Full-service residential interior design for furnishings, kitchen and bath remodels, and custom window treatments, thoughtfully guided from first decisions through installation and styling.
View Our WorkFrom furnishings and custom window treatments to kitchen and bath remodels, our design team brings the judgment, planning, and foresight needed to make individual decisions work together as one finished home.
Hundreds of decisions go into a well-designed room. We bring the experience to make those decisions work together, then carry the design from concept and sourcing through ordering, installation, and final styling.
Remodeling requires the right decisions at the right time. We develop the layout, selections, specifications, and design documentation your contractor needs, while helping anticipate issues before they reach the job site.
Custom window treatments need to work with both the architecture and the room. We design for scale, light, privacy, and style, then manage materials, fabrication, and professional installation for a tailored, finished result.
We learn how you live, what the space needs to do, and what matters most, creating a clear foundation for every decision that follows.
A defined design plan and material direction, so you can see the vision before committing to it.
Furnishings, finishes, and fixtures, sourced and specified to match the plan and your budget.
We manage ordering, scheduling, delivery, and trades, so you don't have to.
The final layer for a home that feels complete.
As-built, demolition, and proposed plans, with a clear scope your contractor can price accurately.
Every finish, fixture, and material selected and specified, so nothing is decided mid-construction.
Drawings and a complete specification package, handed off cleanly to your contractor.
Milestone site visits, keeping the design intact through the final walkthrough.
Transforming your space into a beautiful and functional haven can be overwhelming, especially with a busy schedule.
Creating a cohesive home means navigating many interconnected decisions. Our process brings those decisions together, from concept and planning through selections, specifications and implementation, so each choice supports the next and the finished space feels intentional.
A well-designed home gives you comfort, joy and a great sense of stability. Our experience helps us see the bigger picture, anticipate what comes next and guide each decision toward a home that feels complete.
Whether you're furnishing a room or remodeling a kitchen, we'll partner with you to create a home for you to enjoy every day for years to come, serving clients across Durham, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Cary, and the greater Triangle.
More About Us"I interviewed several interior designers before I found Laura and LK Design — and I am so glad I did. She was lovely to work with. Professional, prompt, thorough and she has great style. My home feels transformed and she really listened and executed on what I was hoping to accomplish with the space. Plus, she picked out the best sofa I've ever owned!"
"Laura is great to work with. She has both design and organizational skills. She listened and asked questions until she understood what we wanted. Then she came up with a plan, a timeline, and a budget, in writing. She stuck to all three beautifully. Plus — the results are fun and awesome looking!"
"LK Design provided a seamless design experience, from initial consultation and proposal right through to implementation. Laura masterfully combined our existing furnishings and decor with fresh window treatments, upholstery, updated wall color and wallpaper, and new curated elements. Our home is us — but better. Highest recommendation!"
